iphone 5 300x252 7 new features the iPhone 5 will haveGossip says that in October 2012 the iPhone 5 will hit stores, so if you’re thinking of buying an iPhone 4s, better wait a little longer.

Here we advance 7 new features that will be seen in the next iPhone.

1 – Product Design
If the iPhone 4S keeps the design of the iPhone 4, shape is expected to change significantly in the next model. For now it seems we will be seeing round edges again, seeking to overcome the design chosen in the Samsung Galaxy S3.

2 – Screen
The market assumes that the fifth generation of Apple’s mobile device will have a 4-inch screen instead of the formerly 3.5 inches, a resistant glass (possibly, Corning, similar to the new iPad) and a higher resolution than the other devices on the market. Indeed, the screen resolution is one of the top features in the last tablet.
Also, last winter, Apple took a patent by which, when the phone is dropped, a component located between the screen and the rest of the device is inflated, reducing the risk of screen rupture.

3 – Processor
A screen with higher resolution will require a more powerful processor. In the past Apple TV devices it has been detected a new dual-core processor, although in these devices one of the two cores is inactive, as the specialized blog Chipworks has discovered. The new chip improves overall performance and it reduces power consumption, although it is a 41% smaller than the A5 processor included I the iPhone 4S.

4 – Camera / video
It is expected that the iPhone’s 5 camera would be 3D and will take pictures and videos in this mode. Apple recently acquired technology to create three-dimensional models, which could also apply for recognition and facial gestures. Such tools could be used to unlock the terminal and to customize the interface for the user’s mood, for example. If this option becomes available, certainly the new iPhone’s camera will dazzle us anyway.

5. Improvements in connectivity.
It is assumed that the new smartphone will support 4G or LTE connectivity, however, this will work mostly in the U.S. and European countries that support that network specs.

6. Pay your bills from the iPhone.
As mentioned in the innovations that will have the IOS 6, iPhone 5 can do payments. Not only that, it is expected that the iPhone 5 get preinstalled application for it, probably through partnerships with various financial institutions.

7. Built-in maps.
Apple is preparing alternative maps to Google Maps along with the firm Stamen Design. In addition, Apple has made several acquisitions of companies related to cartography and map design since 2010. Recently, Apple decided to replace the Google Maps service in iPhoto application, used in the iPhone and iPad, by the OpenStreetMap community service. Given this dispute between the two major companies, it is possible that Apple removes Google as the default search engine for its Safari browser.
