This has been a great year for all types of gamers. The casual ones found a renewed interest on this kind of entertainment thanks to devices like Kinect for Xbox 360 and the release of several great titles for the Wii. And hardcore gamers really enjoyed the launch of the Playstation Move and new and exciting games. Great new stories and continuing editions of highly acclaimed sagas filled the retailer stores and gave us the much needed amount of action on our lives. So, if we’re talking about spectacular titles with interesting stories and innovative gameplay, we can’t put the PS3 aside. One of the best consoles out there brought some of the most interesting games we’ve seen for quite some time now and here are the best of them.
1 – God of War 3
The ending of the popular saga couldn’t be better. Awesome graphics, a captivating storyline and an addictive gameplay that combines exploring and puzzle-solving with huge doses of action are the highest points of this game. If you add the new weapons and the new weapons system to the list, God of War 3 turns into one of the best games of this year.
2 – Gran Turismo 5
A huge collection of cars from all sizes, colors and models, new and innovative game modes to compete against the AI and several options to play online with your friends (playstation network) are some of the things that expand the fifth installment of the great car racing series. In addition, one of the most spectacular graphics engine and an almost real weather system contribute to the best car racing game in recent history, and that’s saying a lot.
3 – Call of Duty: Black Ops
Explosive action and challenging missions is what Call of Duty: Black Ops has reserved for you. This new games ps3 is the One of the most popular first person shooters is back and in better shape than ever. New weapons, new vehicles and multiplayer options expand the player’s experience to a whole different level. When you start playing this game, you’ll like you’re actually in the Cold War era infiltrating an enemy camp.
4 – Red Dead Redemption
If you’ve ever wanted to travel back in time to the American Old West era, you now have the chance, thanks to Red Dead Redemption. This amazing game consists of an open world where you can interact with almost anything. Set in the beginning of the 20th century, the story of a former outlaw will attract you from the start. 6 – Final Fantasy XIII
If any franchise reaches its 13th title, then something must be good on that series. And Final Fantasy has lots of excellent features. The fans will be delighted with the storyline and the new Active Time Battle system will blow everyone’s mind. New characters and renewed gameplay will definitely change the way you see the Final Fantasy franchise.
7 – Dante’s Inferno Divine Edition
Dante Alighieri surely didn’t think that its infamous “Divine comedy” will be the trigger to one of the most obscure and intense videogames of our time. The third-person action game will surprise you with its ambiences and characters and the non-stop action will make your blood boil. Destructive weapons, attack combos and astonishing spells combine to give hell a new and more adult look.
8 – Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Play this excellent adventure/action game and feel as if you were inside a movie. Cinematic elements take hold of the title and combined with the spectacular graphics they provide us with an explosive game. In addition, the cooperative and competitive multiplayer options included gives you the possibility to take your friends in this journey filled with spectacular action.
9 – ModNation Racers
Enough with the action on the list: if you want to spend a fun time with your friends, then ModNation Racers is the game you need. Kart racing has never so fun and realistic. Besides, the excellent customization options and the incredible tracks available turn this title into one of the most addictive games of this year.
10 – PS3 Move Starter Bundle
If you want to test the new Playstation Move controller, this is the kit you should look for. It has all the elements you’re going to need to start playing with the new device. It includes the electronics as well as the first title you’ll enjoy: Sports Champions. Reunite with your friends and have some of these digital sports with the new way of gaming.
As you can see, there’re plenty of options for you to choose. One thing’s for sure: if you own a console you surely will find amazing, funny and addictive PS3 games.
