There’s nothing like being on the road, driving a powerful car and stepping the gas to reach incredible speeds. It’s great to feel the adrenalin and the rush from making an impossible turn and very few things can top the heart-pumping action from a car race. Fortunately, we don’t have to face dangerous paths to make any of those things: we have our PC games! And we have a huge game offer at our disposal with which with can quench our thirst for gasoline. But, where do we begin? There are obvious places to start (Gran Turismo 5 and F1 2010, top games 2010) and there are other not-so-popular titles available to fit our speed needs. I’ll focus on three games that haven’t the popularity they deserve but they’re surely great fun for all the car games’ lovers.
Race On
Race on gives you the opportunity to travel from Laguna Seca to Okayama and from Monza to Curitiba to drive the most powerful cars of the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). Put yourself behind the wheel of a BMW 320si e90, a Chevrolet Lacetti or a 09 Chevrolet Camaro and test your driving abilities. Compete with other 39 unique cars on over 40 tracks all over the world. Participate in the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) and struggle to be the best there is. GTR 2: FIA GT Racing Game
GTR 2: FIA GT Racing Game is, without a doubt, one of the best games of the last decade. This is a near-perfect racing sim in which real physics, dynamic weather, beautiful landscapes and very detailed cars are combined. Learn how to drive in the driving school and prepare yourself for the challenges the 34 tracks available have reserved for you. Get on the seat of some dream machines such as the Porsche 911 GT2 Bi-Turbo, the Dodge Viper or the Ferrari F360 Modena GT and feel the power of the hundreds of HP hiding below the hood. Select the game mode that suits your needs (from single races and practices to custom championships) and expand your gaming experience by adding to the game some of the vast contents designed by players like you. If you’re a car lover, don’t let this possibility pass you by and try this fascinating game.
DRIV3R
Work as an undercover cop who’s trying to crack a car-theft case related with a powerful and corrupt crime ring. Drive through the streets of Miami and travel to the exotic Istanbul to find all the pieces necessary to disarm the band and put an end to its illegal activities. DRIV3R is a great game that combines some elements from action games with the most thrilling tasks as a wheelman. There are on foot missions, hand-to-hand combats and (the most important of it all) miles and miles of roads for you to explore. If you think you’re capable of dealing with this high octane cocktail, don’t hesitate to give it a try.
These games are an excellent choice for all of you who are tired of the top games of 2010 and just want to have fun driving a fast car. Remember, a game isn’t great for its graphics only but for a lot of reasons as well, like its gameplay, its options and the realism put into it. If you don’t believe, I encourage you to try one of these games, which, by the way, totally back me up.
