How difficult can it be to make a list with the best PC games ever created? Some people may think that it is virtually impossible; there are so many excellent names to point out. In this case, I have collected top 10 PC games that have won a space on our memory and hearts for being classic and awesome. Let’s check them out!
The most memorable PC Games of all time:
#10 - Myst
This is one of the best selling PC games (and different platforms) of all history. Its genre is graphical adventure, and it was very good ranked by users because it allows absorbing themselves into the character story, while they go solving complex puzzles.
#9 – Half-Life
Half-Life is a game saga of the science fiction first person shooter genre, that was considered one of the best PC games of all times. Its graphical environment influenced most of titles of the shooter field, and it continues to be played for child and grown up people the same. Its modification Counter-Strike was one of the most famous online shooter games.
#8- The Sims
What do these little people have that make them so addictive? The Sims is the 2nd. best selling PC game in all history. The key of its success might be related to its simple idea: it is like a life-simulator, where you can manage your characters in any way you like. It is like building your own world with houses, neighborhoods and towns with your own personal touch.
#7- StarCraft
This is another example of those top games that have become a success and a classic as the years passed. It is defined as military science fiction real time strategy video game, and it includes different civilizations and races that are fighting each other. You will have to command each one of the races over several episodes and trust on your strategy skills.
#6- Quake
Those first person shooter lovers surely have played any of the Quake versions at least once. It involves killing mutant, aliens and other creatures over different stories. Its playability was well received by users and critics and it included multiplayer mode. I LOVE this game!
#5- Monkey Island
This graphical adventure game was a classic of many people childhood and it is still loved for lots of people. Its first release was in 1990 and it could run on MS DOS operating systems. Due to its interesting plot and its “player-friendly” features it become popular not only on PC users but on consoles too.
Nowadays, as many other classic games, Monkey Island is very hard to find, but if you want to play a cool alternative of the original game I recommend you to try Tales of Monkey Island.
#4- World of Warcraft
This incredible multiplayer online role-playing game has become the most famous and most subscribed all over the planet. Why is it? Because it gives you the possibility to get into an extraordinary fantasy world adopting the look of one of the many races and characters, and interact with the environment or with other players in thousand different ways, in fact I’ve posted several times about this game, take a look. Without a doubt, WOW is one of the best games of all times.
#3- Prince of Persia
The first version of this fantastic game was released in 1989 for Apple computers and soon became a classic among PC users too. Its great playability and the cleanness plot make it one of the most played and memorable games of all times. After that, there were lots of dissimilar versions with more or less success than the first one.
#2- Age of Empires
Age of Empires was and continues to be one of the most played multiplayer RTS (real time strategy) games ever created. The history develops during what it can be called the time of the big empires between the Stone Age and the Classical Period on Europe. Depending on the version of the game is where and when the actions will take place (I recommend you to play the 3rd version)
#1- Doom
Finally, the most memorable game … OF COURSE! Doom is considered a pioneer on the first person shooter video games of all times. Through the game you have to fight monsters and damaged creatures on a base on the planet Mars with everything you can find on your way. You face all this things by yourself in the skin of a nameless marine. This is a classic adventure that you surely have to play at least once in your life.
