With the arrival of HTML5 (a radical revision of the language that supports many websites) the basic structure of the Web is going through a transition phase, in which some essentials components are very likely to disappear. One of the biggest changes the Internet will have to face relates to its capability to display multimedia content. In this way, HTML5 would turn addons such as Flash Player and Silverlight useless. Although it’s too early to be writing death certificates, many developers and programmers support the new revision which will lead eventually to an addon-free Web.
