In the war of Web Browsers speed is everything. Although we are not dealing with prehistoric broadband types (remember the 56 kpbs dial up?) we agree that when we want to access YouTube we would like to do it as fast as possible in the simplest way.
I’ve talked about Firefox and Chrome as the “the safest browsers“ in previous posts, but when it comes to choose the fastest web browser Google Chrome is the winner. Although it keeps winning the golden medal in Speed, its competitors are closing fast to the pole position.
So, it’s not a big surprise that Google Chrome is leading the following infographic since Chrome is well known for both speed and simplicity.
[The fastest web browser ]
However we must consider the amazing job done by Mozilla Firefox’s developers in order to reduce this browser’s demand o f resources and, therefore, how quickly Firefox is loaded and how fast it can load web pages. If we compare from version 3 to 5 we will see nothing but major improvements in all areas: speed, functionality, appearance. Firefox tends to make real the ideal Web Browser: light, fast and full of features. Keep it on that way, Mozilla (by the way, you should give a try to its latest version: Mozilla Firefox 6)
Internet Explorer is on the right path of evolution, at last. Although is no match for Chrome or Firefox, Internet Explorer has improved a lot since the nearly Cro-Magnon Internet Explorer 6. Security, speed and features for (computer’s) first time users are the main characteristics we will appreciate in Internet Explorer 9.
At last but not least we have Safari, the native web browser for MAC now available for Windows. We can clearly see it is the web browser which improved the most between a single version (4 to 5). It is quickly reaching for Firefox’s speed rate and it’s after Chrome’s leader position. Will it reach it? Time will tell.
You can see for yourself the information and then compare with your personal experience. Fast is not always a synonym of best, but when we talk about Web Browsers, speed is what we will consider when choosing the best internet browser. I’ve picked mine… Have you?
