If you are from the 80′s or earlier, you probably hated when the elementary or high school teacher demanded a paper. That meant losing many hours of your day in a library looking for information and copying it word by word in the computer (or at hand).
If you are from the 90′s or later, surely you have no idea of the situation just described. While doing a paper or an essay always requires much effort, the Internet made this task much easier for students around the world. But beware! Getting information from any source can be very dangerous, remember: the web is open for anyone (professional or not) to publish content.
That’s why we decided to present a list of 6 cool websites with useful information for high school: free essays, papers and online training that you MUST add to your bookmarks. They’ll be used often, believe me.
1. Wikibooks - free online books
Wikibooks, from Wikipedia, gathers hundreds and hundreds of opensource books that you can check to get the information you need. Do not expect commercial books as you get in bookstores, but it is open workbooks that were created and edited by users around the world, as with the content of Wikipedia.
Similar to Wikibooks there’s Wikisource, another site that should be taken into account.
2. Wikispecies - free information on species
Another product is quite interesting: Wikispecies. Here you will find all the information you need about the animal kingdom, plants, fungi and other life forms. Photos, anatomy, descriptions, history, etc. It is an amazing site that I wish I had when I was at school.
Wiki, in addition to the websites above, has many other products that help in education. To know them all, visit http://wikimedia.com
3. Nobuna - listening exercises to learn English for free and in the fun way
Nobuna is a great tool for students from countries that do not have English as their native language. There are hundreds of free English exercises to help you improve your English skills in a fun way, through the comprehension of news, interviews, music videos, film clips, etc.
To read more about Nobuna, we recommend you visit some previous posts where we talk about this innovative service.
4. Math.com – Free exercises to practice math
Maths! That big headache from high school (also elementary, at least for me). If you are not in your best shape and you need to exercise your brain, this site will help. There are hundreds of free online exercises on any category of mathematics. Highly recommended!
5. Essay Depot – free essays
In Essay Depot we have a large library of free essays in any subject. While it is not honest (and it is very risky, though) to download a paper done by someone else, these contents will guide you when you begin to put together a test and get valuable information on the chosen topic.
6. 123 Help me! - High School essays and papers
This site is similar to the one above, but it’s more complete. It provides essays and papers that will be of great help in your entire school life. Classified by subject and level of demand (free essays, stronger essays, powerful essays, term papers, etc.) you can find thousands of high-quality documents that will be of great help in school. Some are paid and some others 100% free.
