Months ago we talked about the possible demise of the Windows Live brand. While this may seem strange for millions of users who got used to this suite, Microsoft has done a good job “washing its face” to the old products of WL. Now, it was the time for Hotmail, from now on: Outlook.com
Last week, the new Outlook was released worldwide with an interface similar to Windows 8 Metro style and Office 2013. Minimalist, simple and easy to use, Outlook exceeded one million registered users within a few hours.
Just as the million users who chose Outlook, you can also try and I’m sure you will love it. It has a VERY simple menu on your left where you can access Inbox, Junk mails, folders, etc. And also you will find all attachments categorized by type: documents, photos, videos, other files.
Different product, same account
While everything seems different between Outlook.com and Hotmail.com, your user name and password are the same you used for Windows Live products. All Microsoft accounts belong to the same database, so there is no need to register again and to start from scratch.
Return to Hotmail.com
If you don’t get used to this new service and you want to go back to your old Hotmail, don’t worry. You can change to your old email client when you want: from the icon “Settings” – “Switch back to Hotmail”, and voila!
If you have not tried the new Outlook, you can access for free here, or install the Office 2013 Beta where you will find the Outlook 2013 Desktop version.
Have you already experienced the new Outlook? What do you think?
