microsoft security essentials1 Reinforce your PC with Microsoft Security EssentialsNobody can deny the importance of antivirus software: as the Internet continues to grow, so does the applications with malicious intentions.  That’s why is crucial to install a powerful program to secure the files in your PC. There’re lots of applications that can be used to defend your computer against infections (so many, that out there’s definitely an alternative for your specific needs) but if you’re looking for a low cost software that makes the cut, then you have to check Microsoft Security Essentials.

This is an excellent product from Microsoft since it has all the tools you’ll expect from an antivirus with the additional bonus of being completely free. If you compare MSE with other free options, you’ll find that Microsoft’s program has nothing to envy to its competitors. Equipped with a powerful anti-malware engine, a new heuristic detection engine and some of the best tools for network security (at least, for a program of its price range).

Additionally, you’ll find that Microsoft Security Essentials’ interface is both attractive and practical. All the components are neatly arranged and its commands are easy to understand. The main screen gives you access to a “Scan now” button and the other sections are organized in tabs so you’ll have quick access to them (in those sections you’ll encounter the manual update, the log history of the infections on your computer and all the necessary settings to adjust MSE’s behavior).

The program integrates perfectly with the operating system and its firewall. In this way, Microsoft Security Essentials uses the Windows Update to automatically update its virus definitions database, scan your decompressed files and it even checks your e-mail attachments.

Another great feature of MSE is its low-resource consumption and its small installation package. The setup file weighs only 8 MB and the program only uses a small quantity of your RAM memory. This means that your system won’t suffer with the inclusion of this software, since it can run in the background (and even perform a scan) without disturbing your normal computer activities.

Are you looking for a free antivirus that’s capable to maintain your PC protected against viruses, malware, rootkits, worms and other malicious applications? If that’s so, then you have to give Microsoft Security Essentials a try. Powerful features and the peace of mind you want are just a click away!
