Last December, the Federal Trade Commission of the United States issued a report in which it proposes the inclusion of “Do Not Track” mechanisms with which users can opt to stop websites from tracking their online behavior. The idea is that browsers’ developers start including such features into their own products, giving internauts the possibility to choose whether they want to be tracked or not. Although very slowly, some of the best Internet browsers are beginning to take some steps toward this implementation: among them, you can find Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.
